Very true, especially the economy. But I’m not really worried about it, I got my cats and my husband, and I live in the middle of a wheat field. what more do you need to survive?
Yeah, I’ve got the cats and the kids and hayfields and students, so I, too, am good. I reminded the kids recently how little we’d lived with when I was in grad school and they just grinned and nodded. That’s the “understood” part of this, I think. What do we “need,” really?
I often tell my students that fear is a great motivator. At least it has been for me; my own poverty-class background has definitely provided enough fear of what being really poor is like to keep me going, moving, working. Thanks so much for the suggestion. I’ll check it out.
I like it. Love it
Hi Abra,
Thanks. It really resonated with me. So much to fear these days, and this simplified matters beautifully, I thought.
Best,
Mary

I guess agriculture makes people write ha ha…
or print.
I suggest the book ‘The gift of Fear’ by Gavin Debecker. It tells us how positive fear can be our ally.
